“A Woman Never Forgets Her Insult”: PM Modi Tears Into Opposition for Obstructing Women’s Reservation Bill

English National & International

New Delhi: Launching a blistering attack on the INDIA bloc, Prime Minister Narendra Modi   slammed opposition parties—including the Congress, TMC, DMK, and Samajwadi Party—for their opposition to the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam (Women’s Reservation Bill). The Prime Minister warned that the women of India would “surely punish” these parties for the “sin” of stalling their empowerment.

Addressing the nation, PM Modi alleged that dynastic parties are gripped by fear. “There is a big reason behind the opposition to this bill—the fear of these dynastic parties. They are scared that if women get empowered, the leadership of their families will be threatened. They would never want women outside their families to go ahead,” the PM stated.

The Prime Minister accused the opposition of consistently looting women’s rights under the guise of technicalities. He noted that for decades, parties like the Congress and SP have used the same excuses to stall progress.

“Nation’s welfare is our priority, but when political benefit becomes more important than the country’s welfare, it is the women who bear the burden. The ‘Nari Shakti’ of this country has suffered due to the selfish politics of the Congress, DMK, TMC, and Samajwadi Party,” PM Modi said, likening the move against the quota bill to “foeticide.”

Targeting the Congress specifically, PM Modi described the grand old party as a “parasite.” He claimed that the Congress has lost its existence in most regions and survives by “piggybacking” on regional parties.

“Congress does not even want regional parties to grow stronger. It hatched a political conspiracy to push the future of several regional parties into darkness by making them oppose this amendment,” he added.

PM Modi expressed deep sorrow over the conduct of opposition members in Parliament, noting that they were “clapping in celebration” when the proposal was defeated. He reminded the leaders that the 21st-century woman is closely monitoring every event.

“What happened in Parliament was an attack on the dignity and self-respect of women. A woman may forget many things, but she never forgets her insult. Whenever these leaders go to their constituencies, people will remember that these are the individuals who celebrated stopping women’s reservation,” the PM warned.

In an emotional conclusion, Prime Minister Modi apologized to the “mothers and daughters” of the nation for the delay in passing the landmark amendment. He reiterated his commitment to the cause, stating that while women’s progress has been stalled by the opposition’s conduct, the truth of their intentions is now fully out in the open.

“The opposition will surely be punished for the sin they have committed,” the Prime Minister signed off.
