Chief Secretary Issues Detailed Instructions for Error-Free Odisha Visit of President Droupadi Murmu

Bhubaneswar: The President of India, Droupadi Murmu, will be on a six-day visit to Odisha from February 2 to February 7. In this context, a state-level preparatory meeting was held on Thursday evening in the conference hall of Lok Seva Bhavan under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Anu Garg.

According to information received from the meeting, the President will arrive in Bhubaneswar on the evening of February 2 and, after a few courtesy meetings at Lok Bhavan, will stay overnight. On the morning of February 3, she will visit Jajpur, offer prayers at the Biraja Temple, and perform worship at Nabhi Gaya. In the afternoon, she will visit Balasore and attend the 12th convocation ceremony of Fakir Mohan University. In the evening, she will visit Puri, have darshan at the Shree Jagannath Temple, and perform aarti and pindadaan.

On the morning of February 4, she will visit Mayurbhanj district and inaugurate the Holiday Home located at Mahuldiha in Rairangpur. She will also visit the girls’ higher secondary school run by the Scheduled Tribe and Scheduled Caste Development Department and unveil the statue of Bhanjabir Sunaram Soren. Thereafter, she will inaugurate a sports complex at Baidpur. In the afternoon of February 4, there is a programme for foundation stone laying and inauguration of various other projects at Rairangpur. On the morning of February 5, she will participate in a special programme at the Rairangpur Jagannath Temple and in the afternoon visit Similipal.

On the morning of February 6, she will interact with young members of women and tribal groups. In the afternoon, she will arrive in Bhubaneswar and attend the “Black Swan Summit India” programme jointly organised by the Odisha Government and the Global Finance Technology Network. On the morning of February 7, the President is scheduled to depart from Bhubaneswar airport for Chhattisgarh.

From the President’s arrival in Bhubaneswar, participation in various programmes, to her departure, detailed discussions were held in the meeting to ensure the smooth conduct of all activities. The Chief Secretary instructed the secretaries of all concerned departments, district collectors, and superintendents of police to personally supervise the arrangements and advised them to ensure that no lapses occur in the management of the programmes.
