Following widespread protests over the NEET-UG paper leak, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday announced the formation of a high-powered task force to comprehensively overhaul India’s competitive examination system. Headed by Infosys co-founder and Aadhaar architect Nandan Nilekani, the multidisciplinary panel has been mandated to recommend advanced technological and structural reforms to make public exams leak-proof and entirely transparent.
The six-member expert committee also includes former ISRO Chairman S Somanath, former Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Deka, IIT Madras Director V Kamakoti, former Education Secretary Anita Karwal, and logistics expert Amrit Lal Meena. In his video message, PM Modi assured students that while fast-track courts and stringent new laws are actively punishing those who tampered with candidates’ futures, the Nilekani-led panel will focus entirely on building a foolproof, technology-driven testing framework to restore public faith in the National Testing Agency (NTA).
