Cuttack: Vice President CP Radhakrishnan commemorated the 129th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, praising his extraordinary courage, unwavering patriotism, and selfless sacrifices for the nation. Addressing the gathering on Parakram Diwas in Cuttack, he emphasized that Netaji not only fought for India’s independence but also envisioned the country’s development and future progress. Radhakrishnan said that the day should serve as a reminder for citizens to renew their commitment to nation-building.
The Vice President participated in wreath-laying ceremonies at Netaji’s statue at his birthplace museum in Odia Bazar. He also inaugurated exhibitions organized by the Ministry of Culture, including a gallery on postal stamps featuring the Azad Hind Fauj and a display at the Netaji Culture Bhavan, highlighting the life and vision of the freedom fighter. State dignitaries, including Governor Haribabu Kambhampati and Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, attended the event.
Radhakrishnan reflected on Netaji’s early life and the spark of patriotism that motivated his lifelong struggle. He urged citizens to not only remember Netaji’s historic contributions but also imbibe his ideals of leadership, valor, and vision in shaping the nation. Chief Minister Majhi added that merely recalling Netaji’s name awakens a sense of courage and determination, inspiring future generations to follow his example.
